Upstreet Ministry is NVC’s beginning toward having a healthy and vibrant space for children and families at Northland Village. Just like the rest of our community, Jennifer Davis, director of the ministry, desires to consistently be reaching out to serve NE Los Angeles through the developing ministry. This Friday you will see Jen, and some of the kids of Upstreet at the Atwater Film Night, serving free Lemonade and loving the people of Atwater, Silver Lake and Eagle Rock. NVC Expands on Work in Griffith Park

Being a new church plant, NVC has found it important to spend significant time developing relationships in the community. A portion of this time has been spent at Griffith Park on the corner of Riverside and Los Feliz, welcoming the community into our picnics. The BBQ chicken is good, and is grilled fresh to give to all. What might it look like to make this event a monthly activity of the church family?

An Upside Down Picnic

NVC will be holding an upsdie down picnic on Friday, July 30 @ 5pm in Griffith Park. The picnic will be upside down as it will root in bringing food to give away, rather than to consume. Our church family will be at Griffith Park, on the corner of Riverside and Los Feliz, by the tennis courts, to grill BBQ, play games and hand out mass amounts of pollo to the community. We hope that you will begin your weekend with us join in on the event… Just bring some chicken!

NVC at the Centenniel

What a gift to be a part of Atwater Village and the greater area of NE Los Angeles. After helping to set up the Centennial Celebration, Northland Village Church ran a booth that gave out cups of soil with seeds placed inside. We hope that this expression is one of excitement to grow with the community that surrounds us.

NVC Lends a Hand at the Atwater Centenniel Celebration

NVC is honored to be helping the Village of Atwater by participating in the setup of the 100 year celebration of our home in LA. On top of sending in volunteers to help setup, NVC is also hosting a booth where people can plant their own seed in soil and a cup provided by the church. What a great opportunity to serve the neighborhood in which we are so thankful to be a part. Don’t miss the event… June 13, from 11am to 6pm on the 3100 block of Glendale blvd. in Atwater.

Bobby Bailey Raises Awareness of Malaria at NVC

Former founder of Invisible Children, Bobby Bailey, joined NVC on Friday night to show his new documentary called When the Night Comes. The film spurred conversations for what it means to be a people a part of the story of ridding Malaria, the most deadly disease in the history of humanity, from Africa, by 2015.

Bobby Bailey helped to found Invisible Children, a non-profit that aided in rescuing child soldiers in Uganda. Bobby now has a new project called When the Night Comes. In this new film Bobby investigates malaria in Africa and the work that we can do to end this epidemic. Please join us at Jamison Brown Coffee to view the film, raise awarenss and raise support at 7pm on Friday, June 4.

Northland Village Church will be the first of many church plants showcased on spreadingstories.com. Jordan Watson, founder of the website, found that there were many websites that produced resources for new church plants, but few that shared the stories of emerging communities. Spreadingstories.com will simply share the stories of real churches, really digging into the life of a community. Be sure to check out the site on May 3 for the launch.

Agape Feast

Northland Village Church will be holding its second Agape Feast of the Spring this Sunday. While there will be plenty of food and drinks to go around for everybody, there will also be an extra special component of our feast. We will also be baptizing two people at the event.
